had a wonderful time with Maki-san and Maho-chan this morning. such a beautiful mother and daughter surf duo! when i picked them up, i thought Maho-chan was about 12 years old. come to find out, she’s 18! omg! such a young face!!!
Maho-chan was in position for the first wave so she paddled while Mom watched from behind.
perfection! super good balance and super good ride!
Maki-san wanted to get better so i gave her a few tips on the beach. she was determined!
then she applied the tips and turned her surfing up a few levels. by the end of the session, she was surfing flawlessly.
gosh, the waves were so perfect! and the weather felt like summer!
back drop of Diamond Head. so nice!
Maki-san got so much better and started to walk the board. looking forward and smiling! good job girl!
there were a few times some big waves came by. i was yelling “throw the board!” but Maki-san decided to hold it and go right through the wave. i seriously thought she was going to get pounded!
then i seen her pop right up the back of the wave! omg! that’s pure strength!
then we all had a wonderful time eating Vietnam Pho. thank you Maki-san and Maho-chan for the wonderful morning. and thank you Hikaru-san for introducing me to such wonderful people! went out for an afternoon surf but will get into that later.
then i came home and opened my cooler box from my trip yesterday. first came out the fresh Opihi! this is Hawaii’s caviar.
then some Papio sashimi that Yuko-chan caught.
then some Baraccuda Carpaccio Reid caught.
then panko fried Baraccuda that was the best fried fish i’ve ever eaten! thank you all for a wonderful day, and thank you Mother Nature for providing us such a wonderful meal.
