yesterday afternoon was the last day for Boot Camp Team Nao-san. if i were to compare her surfing from Day 1 to Day 10, i would say it went from good to excellent!
and if i were to compare her confidence from Day 1 to Day 10, i’d say HUGE improvement.
and when you can surf and have confidence, everything else will fall into place. i can’t believe we got this spot again empty on a weekend. that’s crazy!
since nobody was out, i had to catch the wave right after Nao-san’s.
and it felt so good to free surf!
i even tried to get barreled. haha.
then we put away the surfboard and put on the mask and fins. confidence goes a long way. and can go very deep too.

now that Nao-san can free dive pretty good, she can experience more amazing things.
i still can’t believe the Apple Watch works underwater. that’s crazy!
the reason why i’m very strict with people i take surfing is mostly because of safety. if you surf the wrong way, you can get hurt, or get somebody else hurt. i’ve told Nao-san this over and over and over and over. if you panic, you won’t be able to think and control anything. if you are calm, you can. in this case, Nao-san panicked.
then this poor guy that was paddling out for a super fun weekend surf got smacked in the face with her longboard. that’s worst than getting slapped in the face by your girlfriend. i watched the whole thing and i just had to shake my head. i scolded Nao-san again after and i hope she will learn after looking at these photos. haha.
