in Hawaii, most people use Yelp to search for good restaurants. however, in Japan, people use Tabelog. Tabelog is used by 60 million visitors every month so it’s pretty accurate.
the number 1 restaurant in Japan according to Tabelog is Yanagiya. not too far from Nagoya so definitely accessible for me. the only problem is trying to get a reservation. if you’re a first time customer, forget it. you either have to be repeater, or know somebody that they know. other than that, you’re out of luck.
cost is about $100/each and now i have to find a way to get in there. so if you have any idea how i can get a chance, please let me know. i have to eat at Yanagiya before i die. i love this kind of Japan!
