gosh, Wakayama seems like months ago! i can’t believe it’s only been a week. i miss eating, napping, eating, napping, and eating all day long…
En was amazing like usual. starting of with drinks and getting ready for the full course ahead!
yes, these oysters were in the ocean a few hours before, picked by a kid, and now on the table.
Hagi is an amazing fish to eat in Japan. it’s one of my favorite because of the liver.
so creamy and melts in your mouth. wow!
then the hot sake and other amazing dishes.
shirako is also one of my favorites. creamy and delicious.
namako is sea cucumber. very interesting texture as it crunches with every bite.
and the fresh fried oysters were amazing too. so creamy!
i had to dive down a little deeper into the freezing cold water to get these prized sazae. it was well worth it.
squid and salmon sashimi with wasabi and shoyu.
fish bone nitsuke.
i was so shocked to forget to take a photo of the whole Yamari family while they were there. it was Kimura-san and i left towards the end of a very long day.
got back to the house and listened to Renosuke-kun fill the air with the sounds of music. this kid is talented!
nobody believes me when i tell them how good Taiwan is. i’ve been there 8 times since 1993 so believe me, it’s good! you won’t find a perfect barreling wave like this without anyone out anywhere else in the world.
and the view is amazing! from looking out.
and from looking in. haha.
