When we were in Sendai on mission 4, the warm loving Hiratsuka family
took us in for a night. we got there at 10 pm and Mrs. Hiratsuka was
waiting up for us with a freshly baked homemade cheesecake. it didn’t
take long for toda-san to eat half of it. haha. it was the best
cheesecake we had and our team was glad to be sleeping in a warm futon
and be able to take a shower. the next morning, she prepared breakfast
for us. that gave us the power to move on with our mission.
Mr and Mrs Hiratsuka,
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness.
You didn’t have to do what you did for our team but did anyway.
We were nourished by your food, cleansed by your fudo, and energized by
your kindness.
Your house is amazing!
Traditional style with old clocks and tansu made me remember my
Grandparents.
I felt like home and once again, thank you from myself, and the rest of
our team.
We will never forget you and hope to see you again.
