just picked up the new Freesurf magazine. so stoked to see fellow Dove Teammate Takayuki Wakita on the cover! i’m pretty sure he’s the first and only Japanese to get a cover in a Hawaiian Magazine. great accomplishment!
there was a big article on Josh Moniz. i read it and was tearing most of the way. i’m so proud of this kid and all his accomplishments.

under pressure in the final, Josh kept calm and did the job.
one of his quotes was “It was crazy to see my family and friends running down the beach to me after I won, I was like “woah, did that just happen? it was the best thing ever, it felt like we all won.” yes Joshua, we all won that day!
