i’ve never seen this kid smile more than this ever. high school kid going on his very first surf trip to another country? i’d be smiling like this too…

i still can’t believe how lucky this kid was. getting off 2 flights from Hawaii and surfing perfect waves like this all by ourselves…
we pull up to another spot where nobody was out and i say “Aoi, go out and figure out everything on your own.”
the kid started ripping! then a photographer sets up and starts shooting him.
then a whole gallery showed up to watch Aoi’s solo superstar surf session. good job kid!
but by far, this spot was the best. the Taiwan Uluwatu…
Aoi knows so well that early morning surfers get the best waves. the people that sleep in can only dream about waves like this…
once again, good job kid! study hard and more surf trips will follow…
