i was walking around in Ebisu and thought i’d go visit a surfer friend. Akudo-san is the coolest guy with the coolest select shop called Standard California. always so nice to see this kind man.
this is a perfect example of running a select shop. well organized, clean, bright, classic, and friendly staff.
every time i come here, i just stare at all the classic skateboards. such an amazing collection.
then the boys dressed me up with the new arrivals. when i first saw this photo, i didn’t even recognize myself. haha. thank you Akudo-san for my new fresh look.
and thank you boys for being awesome boys!

met a cool kid in the back. Sho is from Hawaii, moved to Japan at age 23 to learn the Japanese language, live the culture, gain knowledge, and see where it takes him in life. i totally respect kids like this because i know how hard it is to adapt. i did the same thing and because of that, my life is 100x better. and i’m sure this kids life will be better too.
