Magical Niseko Moment

It’s been really beautiful these past days.  Clear sky, nice waves, and cool trade winds.

One of my local friends said “wow, your friend has such a good surfing style!”  I told him, “yes, Taro Tamae is a style master in the mountains and the ocean.”

The pioneer of Surf/Snow.  Taro-san took me deep in the back country of Niseko 30 years ago.  When I saw him take his first drop from the peak in the chest high deep powder snow, I couldn’t believe what I saw.  The biggest carves on the steepest drops throwing powder sprays 20′ in the air.  I will never forget that magical moment.

We had a great surf session.  Talking about traveling, snow, surf, fishing, friends, and life.

Always nice to surf with you Taro-san!

Summer is here.  Sunny and offshore all day long…
