Laughing and Ripping

Early morning Bowls.  Good waves with box jellyfish.  Very clean water in the morning.

Practicing the timing because timing is everything.

Good timing and good riding.

12:30pm and suddenly dirty brown water!

Round 2:  Searching for clean water and good waves.

We found clean water and good waves.  The girls were smiling, laughing, and ripping!

Brown Water ALERT!

The dirty brown water just came NOW!

NOW it’s going out to Bowls.  OMG!  Tomorrow will be DIRTY!

Visit, Spend, Go Home!

Someone sent me this video that was just posted.  It was an interview with the Moniz’s Grandma Naki on Molokai.  I had chicken skin because this was the first time I heard her talking.  She was explaining how Molokai use to be 80 years ago.  It was amazing because Molokai is still the same.  Living off the land, taking care of the land, and respecting each other.  That’s what I learn every time I visit there.

If you haven’t seen the big mural at the Campus Center on the University of Hawaii campus, you should go check it out.  I use to sit on those stairs eating lunch between classes.  At that time, I had no idea that was Tony’s Grandma Naki.

Living the Molokai style of life.  This was it.

Another sign posted on the East Side of Molokai.  “Visit, spend, go home.”  The people of Molokai fought to keep Molokai pure and simple.  That’s something we must all respect.  It’s ok to visit as a tourist there, but don’t forget to go home.
