Call it a DAY!

For these 2 girls, everyday is a learning experience for them as they are enjoying each ride, and each moment.  This morning took less time and waves to paddle in feeling very content.  Laughing all the way home.

Early bird Kyle on a set.  The conditions weren’t as good as yesterday, but it was still good.

Riding a 7’6 yesterday and a 6’2 today.  You will miss some waves on a 6’2 but you will also learn better wave positioning.

And once you stand up, your shortboard will feel so ALIVE!

Round 2 at Diamond Head again.  The waves were bigger than yesterday and the conditions were very challenging.  Would you ride a 7’6 or a 6’2?

Great choice choosing the 7’6 because you would have never been able to catch this set from the outside like this on a 6’2.

Double overhead for this girl as she caught the biggest wave of the day!  She rode this one to the beach and we called it a day.  A good day!

August 16, 2024 Hawaii Surf Report

Ala Moana morning traffic…

Good morning 3am.
Ala Moana chest high and good.
Diamond Head shoulder high and bumpy.
Trade winds at 20mph.
Sunny and warm.
Going to the sea.
Have a wonderful day!

Last Minute Ride

Everybody was surprised again as today was even bigger and better than yesterday.  The surf report didn’t see this swell coming so if you woke up early and surfed, you scored.  It was perfect!

These are the days Hawaii feels like Indonesia.  Perfect conditions and really easy to surf.

We’ve been still practicing on the big boards and the girls are getting super comfortable on it.  Paddling for the biggest waves of the day and riding it perfectly.  They told me today “I can’t wait to surf bigger waves!”

The advantages of riding a longer surfboard is you can pop up faster, turn on the higher part of the wave, and have nice walls in front of you.  Just like this.

Round 2 at Diamond Head.  A lot bigger than yesterday so this must be a new swell!

A bird flying by as this girl paddles for the biggest set.

The take off looks so smooth and easy.  The timing is perfect, and the rest of the ride is pure joy.

Ridden from the very outside of Diamond Head all the way to the beach.  That’s over a 1 minute ride!  Good job girl!
