Remembering the Maldives

I think that last calm day we went diving was the last day of summer because ever since then, it’s been windy, cold, and rainy.  It’s totally winter now!

The waves in town have been pretty flat.  But not flat if you foil.

Remembering the Maldives:  I borrowed the jetski one evening to check out this beautiful tiny sand island.  We pulled up on the beach, picked shells for 30 minutes, and when we got back, the jetski was up on the sand.  The tide dropped so fast so I had to lift the jetski back into the ocean.  It was so heavy!  My friend didn’t help me because she was rolling on the sand laughing so hard.  I felt like an idiot.  Haha.

Back in the day:  Secret river mouth in Shikoku with Kimura-san.

Good morning 4:20am.
North shore 4-6′ and bumpy from the North direction.
Ala Moana flat to knee high and clean.
Diamond Head waist high.
North/East winds at 20mph.
Sunny and cool.
Going to the sea.
Have a wonderful day!

The Magical Place

It was so cool to watch the kids free diving in the deep blue.  They are so confident and very calm.  Their hunting techniques are incredible.  To have that kind of knowledge at that young age is only going to make them better men.

And these kids will never starve.  They can survive simply off the sea.

I was watching a papaya tree grow today.  How it transforms from the flower to the fruit is so amazing.  Now we just have to hope the birds stay away from it.

When asked where was the most magical place you visited before.  My answer has always been on the top of Mt. Fuji.  I still get chicken skin reminiscing the sunrise that morning.  No place on earth is that beautiful.
