Go-Naminori in Okinawa….

good morning everyone!!! it’s 5:30 am and i’m super excited. i can finally get on a plane, relax and watch some movies, and don’t have to worry about emails and phone calls. i arrive in narita, then have to catch a bus to haneda, then will be in okinawa just in time for the beautiful sunset. my speargun, surfboard, and camera are in my bag and that’s all i need. i love okinawa and the people there. it’s like flying from hawaii to japan hawaii. wakarimasu ka? anyway, gotta get going. i hope to visit all of my friends this time around in japan. see you soon!!!
**wanted to say hello to photographer yoshi-san over there in okinawa. i was just checking out his blog and seen these cool photos of the kazubo family….

how cute is this…. check out the go-naminori sticker on his board. i’m pretty stoked on that!!!

**one more thing. i really appreciate your emails and comments. i’m trying to keep up but been falling behind. i know you all understand that i hate being in front of my computer all day. i respond to about a hundred emails every day and try to stop there. if i don’t, i won’t have time to surf. i still have more to respond too but just wanted to say thanks and keep them coming. i read them all and will respond to you all one way or another. and for those of you who are still sending me emails for the stickers, they should be on MAKANA CAFE shortly so check back. i’m already running out.. i knew i should have made more… ahhh… next time….
**and last, check out this comment sent to me from france about kelia:
i saw her in roxy jam biarritz .
she is one of the most beautiful girl i ever seen . and i love her style in surf.
my english is not very good to .
muito obrigado gonaminori 🙂

Big Samoan Crab….

good evening. what another beautiful day it was in hawaii. i drove thru waikiki to check out the china uemura contest. those guys are freakin scoring perfect waves. i wish i could surf queen’s with 4 guys out in the water. that’s like a dream…. anyway, i have to get my suitcase out and start putting things in it. i have an early flight tomorrow and am thinking of catching a few waves at dawn before i head to the airport. ummm…. anyway, have a great night….

china town is a great place to buy fruits. before it use to be kind of dangerous going down there but now that all the police are patrolling everywhere, it’s pretty safe. just don’t j-walk anymore because you will get a ticket. and make sure you park your car right or you will get a ticket too. follow the rules down there!!!

watching the kids surfing on this big board is cool. it’s a team effort and everybody has to do his or her part to make it happen….

one of the locals at kewalo’s caught 2 big samoan crabs. if you ever got pinched by one of these, you will lose your finger for sure… be very careful….

the samoan crab is similar to the mangrove crabs you find in indonesian and the philippines. boil it, dip it in butter, and enjoy every bite!!! can’t beat it….

and last, wanted to wish shun’s younger brother ren-kun a happy birthday!!! i think he turns 9 or 10 years old. watch out for this kid because his surfing is getting better and better….. and also wanted to say hello to everybody at yugawara!!! hope to see you guys soon….
