Flowers by Grandma….

good evening. another hot day in paradise. i took it easy and replied to some emails, hey, i’m almost caught up. just a few more to go. as i was driving around today, i was thinking to myself how lucky i am to have been born and raised in hawaii. this is a pretty cool place to live. i guess i have to thank my great grandparents for immigrating here during the rough times back in the days. it must have been hard for them…. by the way, i was walking at ala moana shopping center last night and seen so many japanese. it’s good to see japanese tourists back here in hawaii. the yen is strong so now is the best time to come. hope your all enjoying paradise. have a nice evening….

i have to say something about kuala lumpur airport. it’s probably the cleanest and biggest airport in the world. i thought singapore airport was clean until i pulled into kuala lumpur. the terminal size is 72 football fields? and you have to see the newest shopping center in bukit bintang. it makes ala moana shopping center look silly. it stretches from one train station to another. long and wide…. and the food court? oh my gosh, i can eat there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 365 days a year. it has everything you can imagine and costs pennies. i can’t wait to go back there…

i went to stop over my grandpa’s house today. he’s 90 years old and super genki!! we were talking about the WW2 war and the war we are fighting now. my grandpa always says that war is not good. i think so too. i must have asked my grandpa a hundred questions about growing up in hawaii during the war. i’m really curious when it comes to that subject and i have hundreds of more questions coming. thanks grandpa for the juice, stories, and for being such a great grandpa….

my grandma would be so proud to see all her flowers in full bloom….

this is a gardenia that my grandpa gave me today. the sweet smell is making me feel so happy!!!

Happy Boys Day and Cinco de Mayo….

good morning. i didn’t realize that yesterday was boys day in japan, and cinco de mayo in mexico. so what do you do? go out with the boys… got a call around 8pm last night and couldn’t turn down an invitation to the festivities….

there was a huge block party last night in downtown. drunk people dancing in the streets everywhere….

it was my first cinco de mayo celebration and i had a blast. so did everybody else….

my friends john and bobby caught a taxi. i should have done that too. when it was time to drive home, i took out my alcohol analyzer and blew. 0.20 is legally drunk and if i get pulled over by a cop, i’ll go to jail. so i sat in my car for a while and drank water like a fish. rested, then drove home when my alcohol level went back to legal. it took 2 hours of sitting in the parking lot at ala moana shopping center but it was the right thing to do….
**surf report: sorry, i don’t know… haha… all i know is that the winds will be light all week so good for surfing and diving. i’m looking outside and all i can see is blue sky… have a nice day….
