good morning. 6:30am and the waves are BIG on the north shore. solid 10′ at pipe but forget going out there because the bodyboard contest will probably be on. town is small but still clean and fun. 8 guys out at bowls. hey, if your up now, take a look out the window and look at the pink sky. one of the nicest sunrises i’ve seen in a while. it’s going to be a beautiful day so get out there and enjoy!! have a nice day!!!

surfing is about having fun. when ever i surf in town, i always have fun. on the north shore, it’s another story. it gets tense at times. but not at bowls…

this is my favorite photo from yesterday. this girl took off and the wave was barreling behind her. i gave her a go-naminori sticker and hope she sees her photos someday. gallery up soon…

this guy asked me how much my water housing costs. after i told him, he looked at me like i was crazy or something. am i?

and last, the waves might be small for adults. but head high for the kids is more than enough. we paddled to this little inside right and kairi had it to himself. since last year when i first met kairi, his surfing level went up 4 levels. i was pushing him into waves last year but from now on, he’s on his own. watch out for this kid from osaka…

i got a text message from local motion saying, “last night wasn’t a bbq. it was more like a 5 star full course meal”. she’s right… wanted to thank everybody for coming. and you know something? i’ve been going to parties on the north shore for over 20 years and last night was the first time there were more girls then guys…. now that’s a good party!!! check out the crew that was in the house watching the UFC. the other half was outside getting bit by mosquitos.. haha…

bowls has been pretty dam good this past week. chest/shoulder high with perfect conditions. this was today at 1pm after i was out there for almost 3 hours…

i went out there today to try to get a shot of kairi. i was looking for a special shot with magic island in the background. i got more than enough. kairi’s going to be stoked when he sees all the photos i got of him today!!!

i usually use my fish eye lens on small days. today, i used another lens to get different kind of shots. it wasn’t easy because i was getting pounded by waves sitting on my longboard. but it’s shots like these that make it well worth the poundings… check out diamond head in the background. you can’t get a shot like this from the land. only from the water…. sweet!! more photos coming tomorrow…
