Third World Homeless Problems…

good morning. 7am on this windy chilly wednesday morning. waves looking small out on the north shore. don’t see anybody out anywhere. town is flat. i’m going to drive around and look for a little uncrowded wave to surf. have a nice day….

i get a lot of comments on my destination travel bag. i got this about 5 years ago and use it all the time. it’s like a mini surfboard coffin. so much things can fit in it, including my long dive fins. the only thing about this bag is that when i’m traveling, it’s so versatile that some people want to use it for a cooler, or even a fish bag. no freaking way…

these are some of the goodies i took to tahiti. after a long day diving, it goes good with a few hinano’s…

and last, i’ve been looking around the world for a jack daniel’s flask. looked all over in hawaii, in japan, in indonesia, in thailand, and in the philippines but never found one. so when toda-san and takami-san gave this present, i almost cried…. thanks so much….

and last, traveling to third world countries really wakes me up. to see some of the living conditions that some people have to endure. and the sad thing is it’s not all their fault. you can’t say, “hey, go work”, or hey “it’s your fault”. some countries governments just don’t give the poor people a chance. a lot of them are born this way, and die this way. it’s sad and there’s no end to the world homeless problem…. so if you have a roof under your head, appreciate it….

Stalk, Aim, Shoot, Photo, Shark, Dinner….

good evening. feeling like winter here in hawaii. how cold was today? i finally got things done and was trying to catch up on emails. sorry if i haven’t got to you yet but i will eventually. i watched the news today and nothing was good so i turned it off. i’m tired of hearing about our economy going down and all the other depressing news. so instead, i was looking through our tahiti trip photos and getting all happy again. then i was looking back at our indo trip and was getting even happier. and then i was looking at all my photos from japan and i’m happiest right now. so happy that i’m going to eat a happy cookie and milk. have a safe evening… goodnight…

when i was in tahiti, i was swimming around with my speargun and camera at the same time. the camera was for taking photos for a magazine. and the speargun was to keep the sharks away from the boys. so i was playing around and trying to shoot myself. not with my gun, but with my camera. so here is step 1. swim around and look for fish with the gun in the right hand, and the camera in the left. point camera backwards and take a shot. cheese….

step 2. when you see something, take aim and slowly approach your dinner. move very slowly and stay down until the fish gets curious….

step 3 is hit the trigger and hopefully hit the fish. i forgot to shoot that part because i was too excited. step 4 is to secure the fish as in this photo. stick your knife in the fishes brain so you kill it and keep the hungry sharks away….

step 5 is to look around for sharks. look good. see that 6′ black tip shark heading my way? he wanted my fish so bad but there was no way i was going to give it to him. he came within a few feet a couple of times but there was no way he was taking my dinner. he finally gave up when i told him to get somebody else’s fish. it’s amazing how sharks understand english. but the sharks were everywhere. spear a fish, here comes the sharks. it was pretty cool watching them in their world. we were even feeding them at times. the underwater world is the bomb…..
**so here’s the deal, i ended up taking over 1,000 photos. most for the magazine, but some for my blog. got some cool ones coming up…. stay tuned and dive safe….

Seth Moniz and Shun Murakami Go-Naminori T-Shirts….

good morning. junk waves for most people on the island but good enough for me. waves are waves and surfing is surfing so that’s what i’m doing today. i went to tahiti and came back more of a positive thinker than i already was. most surfers complain about small surf, windy, cloudy, nothing to do days like this. as for me? this is still paradise and there are still so many things to do on this island. for example, sleep… haha.. have a great day…

hey everybody, check this out. wada-san from New World Trading Inc. in tokyo sent me some presents for the boys. yes, this is the first ever seth moniz tshirt. and seth moniz stickers. i’m so stoked and i know the boys will be stoked too. i’m so fortunate to have met so many kind people from my blog. thanks to everyone for giving me the motivation to sit in front of my computer 5 hours a day. haha.. just joking. but really, i’m glad to meet every one of you. thanks so much again..

these are shun murakami’s. these two kids don’t even know that these tshirts even exists. they are going to be stoked for sure. if this were size L, i would wear it all the time….

and wada-san didn’t leave me out. he designed and made this cool go-naminori tshirt for me as a surprise. i’m going to keep this tshirt for the rest of my life and when ever i wear it, it will remind me of all the kind people that’s around me. things like this make me so happy that i don’t know what to say…. except, thanks, thanks, and thanks…. thank you everyone….[:?????$B!x(B???:]
