Finders Keepers: Vintage Local Motion

Check out this video that just came out.  It’s about finding a vintage Local Motion surfboard from the 1990’s.  That board was Tony’s signature airbrush.  Gosh, I would have bought that board too!  It was cool seeing the young Tony and Tammy Moniz.  Brings back some great memories of the 90’s.  Check it out!

Shells, Shells, Shells…

Good morning 5:10am.
North shore chest high and junky.
Ala Moana waist to chest high and good.
Diamond Head chest high and good.
Light trade winds at 15mph.
Sunny and warm.
Going to the sea.
Have a wonderful day!

Learning in Progress

The beach was pretty crowded this morning.  Mixed in with the locals were competitors practicing for the upcoming Hawaii State Championship Surfing contest at Bowls.  A lot of aggressiveness going on in the ocean.

Chest high sets and perfect conditions.  There must have been a hundred surfers scattered from Rockpiles to Bowls.

The winds were still light so I went to check Diamond Head.  OMG, perfect waves and beautiful weather.  I couldn’t resist it!

It felt so good to be in the ocean for the second time today.

Surf in the morning and foil in the afternoon.  I’m in love with Hawaii!

Small foil today so a lot more faster and radical.  Faster speeds means harder wipeouts.  I’m still learning…
