Chasing Dolphins and Waves

Back to Wakayama.  The surprised look of your very first boat filled with sashimi.  I still remember the first time I saw one of these.  I couldn’t believe it.

This isn’t only food, this is art!

We don’t have oysters in the ocean here in Hawaii so eating live oysters was a treat.

Kimura-san got out a very rare bottle of Jack Daniels.  This bottle only lasted for 10 minutes but it got the party started.

33 tourists got citations by the police for chasing dolphins in Hawaii.  Yes, it’s illegal and it’s also a federal crime.  They will have to go to court and I’m interested in what’s going to happen.  The whole world will find out.

The police have drone video to prove it.  This has been going on for years in Hawaii and now you can go to jail for it.

When you see a Federal Officer getting involved, that’s not good for you.  I’m happy they are enforcing the law.  So if you sign up for a dolphin tour in Hawaii, you better be careful.  Times have changed.  Everybody is watching and you will get caught.

Last, Nakahodo-san going for a surf on his magic board in Okinawa.  Surf your dream…

Making Childhood Memories

Now that the covid lockdowns are done, everybody is starting to come back to Hawaii.  Fujimoto-san and Kaito-kun were ready for Kaito-kun’s long awaited first surf!

Kaito-kun was so brave.  He stood right up on his first wave and had the perfect style.  So cute!!!

He’s only 7 years old but I’ve known him for 8 years.  Does that make sense?  Yes, I met him when he was still in Mommy’s stomach.

For me to see a kid smile like this on his very first surf session, it’s very rewarding.  This is how you get your kid to love surfing, and to love the ocean.  It’s way better than Disneyland.

After Kaito-kun caught his fair share of waves, he waited on the beach patiently for Dad.  Such a good boy.

This morning was super onshore and very challenging.  But Fujimoto-san is a very strong man so I wasn’t surprised to see him surfing so good.

There were only 2 other surfers out at Ala Moana today.  These are the days that make the strong even stronger.

Thank you boys for the wonderful morning!  Welcome back to Hawaii and see you guys next year in the water!
