Day 8 of 2023 and another epic moonlight morning.  

My students can see in the dark!  They can catch the wave and ride it just like how when it’s lighted.  Not easy to do, but they make it look easy.  

Practicing and connecting every morning Boot Camp.  I love the results. 

Waves good again this morning so one of the longest West swells still hitting our South shores. 

I use to be able to ride in front of Hiro-san and take his photo but not anymore.  I would get run over for sure.  Now I get the cool back view! 

Today was Sunday so we tried to avoid the crowds by going to my secret spot in the afternoon.  I thought there would be a couple other surfers out but I was wrong.  It was only us the whole 2 hour session!  Epic waves and perfect conditions.  That’s the second time this year so far!!!

Happy New Year South swell.  We are so lucky!

North shore chest high and coming up.
Ala Moana waist to chest high.
Diamond Head chest high.
Everywhere good with perfect morning conditions.
Cool morning and sunny all day.

So far this year has been pretty consistent.  Getting out early again and greeted by the full moon.   

And we also have a surprise South swell with perfect conditions.  Look at my student taking this nice one! 

Knees are bent, arms are up, and things are looking bright for this guys future of surfing.  

When surfers get to an advanced level like this, I can follow, film, and do off the lips behind him.  Everybody wins!  

Look at this kid!  Keahi looks exactly how Isaiah looked like when he was this age.  So cute!!!
