Dove Built

Depending on the tide, Bowls can be a totally different wave.  On the low tide, it’s fast, hollow, and shallow.  On the high tide like this, it’s slower, softer, and deeper.  Some prefer high tide and some prefer low tide.  We like them both.

Nakahodo-san didn’t want to come in.  We were out there for 3 hours and if I didn’t say let’s go in, we would probably still be out there right now.

30 rides in 3 hours.  That’s what you call an epic session.

This girls been studying how to do cutbacks.  And it seems like it’s working because this is a very nice one.

Everybody is getting better and that’s what I want to see.  Good job boys and girls.

The day before Lance left to Indonesia, he told me “eh, I don’t have a rash guard.  can you get me a Dove one?”  Shortly after, it was hand delivered with love.  Have a safe trip brother.

Bodyboarding Okinawa

The day after the jellyfish invasion.  Yesterday had the most anyone has ever seen, and today there were zero jellyfish.  Nature is fascinating.  Lucky for Kinoshita-san as he just arrived in Hawaii.

It is so cool to see someone bodyboarding in Hawaii for the first time.  The steep take off, the long rides, and the perfect conditions.  Kinoshita-san was so happy after each ride.

I use to be a bodyboarder too so I can relate to the feeling.  It’s like your whole body and legs are connected to the ocean.  It looked so fun.

Turtles have been popping up all over the place.  I must have seen over 10 today.

Look how glassy the conditions were this morning.  Smooth rides for this happy surfer girl.

Confident and focused.  That’s the goal.

Nakahodo-san arrived today from Okinawa so we went to get some waves in the afternoon.  Thankfully it was really good!  Even better than the morning as the high tide kept the rights going on forever.

We were really impressed by Nakahodo-san’s surfing.  His level was way higher than the last time we surfed.  He caught about 30 waves today and came in a happy Okinawan.
