Mountains of Snow

so happy to see Nao-san surfing in the powder snow mountains!  this is so beautiful!

snowing on the beach in Kamakura is very rare.  i experienced it only once and it was so amazing.  thank you Nao-san for the snowy photos!

it’s crazy how small this island is.  i was foiling way outside Waikiki and i saw a guy further out paddling across the ocean.  we crossed paths and it was Uncle Teddy!

then continued to fly in towards the beach like a bird with new wings.  i’m so addicted to this!

last, Matsu sent me this photo of Mt. Fuji and the first thing that came to my mind was my Grandma Fukunaga.  i hiked up and placed her little ceramic owl on the very top of that beautiful mountain.  now i’m more than ever connected to Mt. Fuji!  it just makes me smile when i see her…

High 5 Hawaiian Blessings

went to Seth’s house and the boys were cooking dinner.  guess what this is?

yes, deer sashimi!  i was super happy to see the kids eating it because the first time they ate it i had to lie to them.  i told them it was maguro.  haha.  now they love it!

Uncle Dennis came over to bless the new boat.  an old Hawaiian ritual that will live on forever.  Uncle Dennis blessed Mayuki when i first got her so there is some connection here.  the ocean is a wild place so it’s good to have a proper Hawaiian blessing…

we woke up to some pretty good waves!  chest high and perfect!

the girls assignment today was to practice the Hang 5!  it was so beautiful to watch!
