Surfers Cheering Section

today is Day 2/2/22 of the year.  wow, a once in a lifetime day.

the new WCT qualifying format is very stressful.  every heat counts because if you’re not in the top 22 after the 5th contest, you’re off the tour.  so if you don’t make the top 22, you won’t be able to surf the 2nd half of the tour which includes G-Land, El Salvador, Jefferys bay, and Teahupo’o.  so now there is no time for mistakes.  you focus, you stay calm, and you look forward.  Coach Rainos knows how to calm the mind of Seth…

it’s been 2 years since we couldn’t watch Seth compete.  so this contest is big for all of us.  it was pretty funny because Seth had the biggest cheering section of all the surfers, including John John Florence and Kelly Slater.  if Seth caught a wave, you would hear us.  my friend said he could hear us on the broadcast too.  haha.

when Seth wins, we all win.  it’s pretty emotional watching his heats.  if you’re there for finals day, come scream with us as he will have the biggest heat of his life.  it will be his first time surfing a heat against John John Florence who is a heavy favorite.  but when Seth the underdog, he preforms best.  see you there!

thank you Nakahodo-san for sending me the cheering section photo.
