Paper Tree

i was told that there are colorful trees in Hawaii.  first i didn’t believe it.  then when i actually saw it, i thought some kids probably painted it.

then i wondered how the kids could color these super tall trees?

now i know there are colorful trees in Hawaii!  nature is pretty amazing!

remember when this guy ran over my surfboard with his car in the Bowls parking lot?  well, he ended up having to pay for it.  so if somebody runs over your surfboard, make sure they buy you a new one.

the other day i saw a shark outside Kaisers.  i pointed it out and one of the guys told me “there’s no sharks out at Kaisers.”  yes there are.   they live there!

by the way, waves in town today were better than yesterday.  clean water and perfect conditions!

The Hills are Alive!

i was foiling on the North shore on a pretty big and challenging day.  i was the only foiler out for about an hour and was wondering if anyone else was going to paddle out and take the big wave challenge too.  then here comes Fabian!

then Robbie comes pumping out to the lineup.  i’ve been surfing with these guys for decades so seeing them paddle out on a big day was pretty cool.  we all wanted the challenge and got to experience it together.  it was just us foiling that day.  if it wasn’t for foiling, i wouldn’t have seen these guys in years.

when we got back to the beach, we shook hands, said goodbye, and i know i’ll see these guys again very soon.  Jurassic Park is going to be super good tomorrow.  see you boys there!

i came home after a long day and turned on the tv.  OMG, The Sound of Music was on!  this has to be my all time favorite movie when i was a kid.  i memorized every single song word by word.  so yes, i was singing out loud and i never forgot how to sing it!

someday i will visit Austria and run down a hill singing “The Hills are Alive!”  that’s always been my dream.

want to thank Chichan for sending me this cool photo from Hookipa, Maui.  isn’t nature amazing?
