i can’t believe how many people are surfing recently. i see friends i haven’t seen for 30 years! there are surfers everywhere and i’m very thankful that the government didn’t ban surfing in Hawaii. i know they did it in other places like California, Australia, Costa Rica, etc… what would all these surfers do if we couldn’t surf in Hawaii? that would be trouble for sure…
i came in from Diamond Head and counted 78 surfers. pretty cool to see everybody exercising in the ocean.
and look at Ala Moana Bowls! omg! the waves are tiny and it’s looking more crowded than Waikiki!!!
with 1 out of every 5 people in Hawaii unemployed, now you know where they are. and nobody’s complaining…

i just love driving on the empty roads. i drive much slower now because i’m not in any rush. and when you drive slower, you can see much more beautiful things…
remember those 2 kumu’s i speared? i prepared it very simply. lots of ginger and put this in the oven. then when it was ready, i covered it with cilantro and green onion. then poured sizzling hot sesame oil with golden crunchy garlic all over. you won’t find a better dish like this in Hawaii. i wanted to take a photo of the final dish but i was so hungry that i totally forgot…
