this morning i did something different. i asked Seira-chan to be the teacher. if i can teach somebody to be able to teach other people, then it makes my job much more rewarding…
and when you have someone so eager to teach, and students so eager to learn, everything will be wonderful.
in my eyes, Ueda-san is born again. i can’t believe how confident he’s gotten. it’s amazing…
this is absolutely perfect surfing style!
and Tomami-san too! perfect surfing and perfect smile.
this is super cool!
and this is super fun!
on this wave, 5 of us were riding the same wave having a blast. and now that everybody can stay calm, nobody got hurt. if this was last year, one or two of us would be going to the hospital. haha…
session 2 with Oshima-san coming tomorrow. i came home to do my taxes and when i looked at the clock, it was already 6pm. BUT, the sun is setting later so i had time to sneak in a few waves to end the day.
drove down to Diamond Head, grabbed my foil, paddled out, caught 3 waves that turned into 10 waves, and rode my last wave all the way to the beach. all this while the sun was setting!
jumped back in my truck, drove 10 minutes home with the biggest smile on my face…
then opened this special box of Yamari Shirasu. thank you Kimura-san for giving it to Makisan to give to me. miss you guys! can’t end a day better than this… itadakimasu!

after surfing and laughing so much yesterday morning, we were super hungry. plate lunch was requested so we went to Rainbow Drive-In for my favorite. it’s not on the menu so remember to order a chili plate with BBQ beef on the top. you won’t be disappointed…
another reason i chose Rainbow’s is because we can make a lot of noise, because we make a lot of noise. even there, people were giving me stink eye for laughing so loud. gosh, it isn’t our fault we’re having a wonderful time right? haha…
Seira-chan baked cheesecake for all of us! so sweet!
while we were eating lunch, i asked Tomami-san about her dreams. she said she has 2 dreams. one was to go out on Mayuki. that’s easy. the other one i’ll tell you later.
when somebody tells me their dreams, i’ll make it happen. and little do they know, it’s my dream to go out on Mayuki at any chance. this is why…
the ocean was so smooth, and the water was so clean. a perfect day for cruising…
Inaida-san bought Mayuki to make my dream come true. and ever since then, it’s my dream to make others dreams come true. whether to hop over to another island, free dive, fish, fireworks, or even a short cruise, i’m all in! it’s simply called, “paying it forward.”
Yesterday’s Afternoon Delight…
