Kelia surfed with Seira-chan many times so she’s been watching her progress. and she was very impressed how good Seira-chan got. so while we were out, i asked Kelia to give her some advice. and like the sweet girl she is, she said “of course.”
the amazing thing about Seira-chan is she listens carefully. and that’s the main reason why she gets good so fast. so when Kelia was teaching her how to do a better cross step, i already knew there would be speedy results.
next wave, Seira-chan’s cross step went from good to great! very impressive…
Kelia is 2x World Champion for a reason. surfing to her is very natural and very smooth. not too many people can hang 10 like this…
filming this girl ever since she was 1 year old. loved it then, and still loving it now…
on our last wave, i rode on the side and watched Seira-chan do her beautiful cross steps taught to her by Kelia Moniz. i was so happy to see this perfect style!
Kelia told me that Seira-chan has a really great style. she said that’s most important. and that’s coming from someone that was voted “Best style surfer” in 2019. and i totally agree because i believe “style is everything!”

first was round 1: like a normal day, we started off early. Seira-chan practicing hard on the longboard because she told me she wants to be like Kelia Moniz…
step by step, this girl is getting good. by the end of this trip, she might be surfing even better than Kelia Moniz…
then it was round 2: Oshima-san is one of the happiest guys i know. always super stoked on any and every wave.

while we were surfing, the vibe suddenly changed. yeah, Kelia Moniz paddled out and Seira-chan was super surprised. it’s so weird how many times these 2 girls meet by chance.
then it was round 3: Joe brings a good vibe into the ocean too. super happy and super positive. you have to be super happy and super positive to be married to Kelia. haha.
we ended up surfing for a very long time. none of us wanted to go in so we ended up surfing and having a great time. i’m so proud of Kelia for being such a great role model for so many people. she brings the sunshine, she brings the happiness, and she brings the dreams. it was awesome surfing with you girl!
