Aki is Colorful

i was sitting on the grass outside the Honolulu Arts Museum.  just looking around and watching the cars and people.  then, a security guard came up to me to see what i was doing.  i just looked at him, smiled, and he walked away… i stayed there and started taking photos.  i was never into arts and i always wondered why people made things like this.  what is it, and why? noticed all the tall condominiums all over Honolulu.  so many are popping up that i can’t even remember what Hawaii use to look like… now this is art.  sculpted by Mother Nature… it’s pretty cool when you’re lying on the grass and looking sidewards.  this is when the security guard came up to me again.  i think he thought i was homeless… i can’t explain to you how painful my pinky is right now.  my nail is going to fall off for sure any day soon.  ouch… so happy to see Asayama-san enjoying the beautiful colors of “fall” in Japan.  so beautiful and so peaceful…  want to thank Fujimoto-san for the instant somen.  that’s my kind of quick lunch!  and want to thank Takagi-san and Mariko-san for the miso soup bowls.  these are much bigger than the standard size ones i have.  that means i can drink more miso soup!  so happy!

Sacred Hawaiian Fishpond…

the whole Moniz family spent the last weekend in Molokai at their house that was in the family for generations and generations.  it was their first time spending that precious time all together on the island where there roots go back hundreds of years…  the Moniz Boys are well respected Hawaiians, caring, loving, and also so very kind.  i love these boys.  these photos where taken by Joe Termini at a very sacred fishpond… since Takahashi-san was coming to Hawaii, i took a few days off for an island getaway.  and since the waves are small and the winds are gone, it’s perfect for Mayuki to take us there.   so i loaded up and got ready. since there is no supermarket on the way, we have to buy and take everything for the next few days.  it’s fun shopping and planning.  the rest is up to the ocean to provide us with meals… loaded up 2 wagons and finally were done… started off with the drinks cooler.  then i have another cooler for vegetables, and another one for meat.  we will be eating very good… then went to fill up gas because there are no gas stations on the way either.    watched the sunset sipping on a cold beer.  this is paradise! then came in and the sky was still lit up orange.   then a quick Mexican dinner.  had to sleep early because it’s going to be a very long weekend ahead.  taking our dive gear, fishing poles, flashlights, and of course, surfboards.  just going with the flow and see where Mother Nature takes us.  can’t wait…
