Ala Moana waist high and good.

Diamond Head chest high and bumpy.

Trade winds at 20mph.

Sunny and warm.

 Carter and I surfed Kewalo’s ever since we were 13 years old.  his Dad use to drop us off and we use to hang out there all day long.  this morning, we went to test out some twin fins.  he had his, and i had Kelia’s.  haha…   the local crowd out here is very different than what you see at Ala Moana Bowls.  less people, all locals, no tourists, and mutual respect.  if you do something stupid out here, you will get beaten up for sure.  i’ve seen it many of times…  so going out there this morning, i was so stoked to catch up with the boys… Seira-chan loves Kewalo’s.  this morning World Champion Carissa Moore was out so she was lucky.  if you surf with the best, your level will rise!  another perfect bottom turn… such a beautiful line… Kewalo’s is a pretty hard spot to surf but Seira-chan was doing good.   such a beautiful turn.  good girl!   Carter was ripping his twin fin! seen this young girl ripping!  i’m sure she will be on the World Tour soon.  Kewalo’s is the breeding ground for professional surfers… it felt so good to surf a different spot today.  i think we scored girl!   Kewalo’s is Locals Only so if you’re a tourist and surf out there, please don’t say you know me.  haha.  and omg, the water is always clean and beautiful.  all you have to do is a duck dive and i’ll get you an amazing photo for your instagram.  but please don’t like it, just love it!

 somebody is going to get scolded tomorrow for wrapping the leash like this!  no, this is not the way.  haha… since the corals are already dying from bleaching, the DNLR and NOAA are telling people “Do not stand on coral.”  so to all you surf instructors at Bowls, STOP STANDING ON THE CORAL!!!   AND TELL YOUR STUDENTS ALSO NOT TO!  YOU GUYS ARE KILLING IT!!!   when will you get it??? Baby Showers use to be only for the girls.  it’s a girly party to pre-welcome the new baby.  cute setups, and totally for the girls… Trail Mix Bar?  cool!   i thought it was only going to be a few people, but i was wrong.  i should have known just the Moniz Family is more than a few people.   the surfer boys crashing the party.  but no seats for these guys… Micah taking care of the grill like always. Megan helping out in the kitchen.  Megan is Kelia’s best friend so if anybody makes trouble to Kelia, Megan will be the first one in your face.  and vice versa.  and when 2 of them are in your face, the whole Hawaii is behind them.  pretty scary… so stoked to see big waver and long time family friend Aaron Gold.  the first thing he told me was “hey, please tell Kimura-san i said hello.  and let me know next time you go to Wakayama.  i want to go with you.”  will do Aaron. i just love going over to Kelia’s house because it has such a family and welcoming feeling.  nobody is a stranger here.  and she made the surfer boys play girly games.  haha.   i hid in the bathroom when Kelia was trying to look of me.  no way i was going to do this!  haha..how fast can you suck a baby bottle nipple?  that was actually the coolest game ever!  anyway, here is a Moniz style Baby Shower going down in Hawaii.  full of life, and full of Aloha…

i can’t wait for the new Moniz baby coming any day now…
