Happy Turkey Night!

light winds coming up so getting Mayuki ready for some fun in the sun!

driving through Waikiki and seeing so many tourists! i guess you can say our economy is still booming!

and the hotel strike is still going on and looking like it will go on throughout the holiday season. i feel so sorry for the workers because paying the bills must be so hard.

my Mom had a brilliant idea about 10 years ago. we celebrate out holidays the day after the holiday. so instead of going to family diners on both sides, we can all be together the next night for sure.

Micah is the chef when it comes to the grill. and each year, his dishes are getting juicer and juicer.

turkey is usually dry, but not this one. the juiciest turkey you will ever eat! good job Micah!

asparagus made simply. and tasting simply good.

the kids just being kids. Seth Moniz getting family time before his next contest at Sunset Beach.

our family loves kids. and it doesn’t seem too long ago when Kelia Moniz was a little baby too. so good to see her all grown up!

so happy to wake up this morning to a beautiful photo of Mt. Fuji by Todaheli! made my day so much brighter!

and my day got even brighter when i took out Mayuki for a morning treasure hunt.

i’m not a big fan of fishing, but i have every single fishing pole you can think of. and when i go on our next boat trip, we’ll be ready for anything!

King and Queen of Waikiki

i just love taking photos of my family in Waikiki. the fact that this is where surfing was born still amazes me. back then, only the Kings and Queens could surf. so yeah, Waikiki is a very sacred place which we must all respect.

my sisters friend caught some nice long rides. happy to see the stoke when people surf for their very first time. i just love this photo!

Tony Moniz and granddaughter Kaira enjoying the surf. King and Princess…

to me, my sister is like the Queen of Waikiki. everybody down there knows her, and everybody down there respects her. and getting respect in Waikiki isn’t easy to do because of all the haters down there. haha. i can tell when i paddle out that not too many people like me. and i love it! haha.

Grandma Tammy still surfs and has a big presence in the lineup.

another Princess who caught her very first wave out there 16 years ago.

this is how we have family fun. just go out with no worries, enjoy each other, and respect the ocean that has given our family so much.

back in the days when the King and Queen surfed a wave together in Waikiki must have looked something like this. i’m so happy to capture this very special moment…
