last night i slept at 7:30pm. haha. i was trying so hard to stay up but couldn’t. so i got up at 3am and did some yoga. then left my house at 6:30am. my A/C was blowing out warm air so i thought it was broken. come to find out, my A/C cool air was warmer than the outside air. crazy! welcome to winter in hawaii!

i love wintery days like today. keeps everything cool and the mountains green. good to surf too because you won’t get sunburnt.

after surfing the perfect session today, Nao-san and i went to eat at chinatown. and yes, the food was amazing!

since Nao-san’s phone takes nicer photos than mine, i don’t even want to snap a shot on my phone anymore. look how clear this is!!!

this is definitely my favorite dim sum restaurant in chinatown. so good that i can’t say where it is. some secrets are better kept secrets.

and my favorite sweet/sour cabbage fried noodles. the best in town! thank you Nao-san for the surf and photos!

the best feeling is to come home after a long day at work and play with Mateus. he brings more joy to my the end of my joyful day!

i’ve been practicing my hand stand a lot. it’s very hard to do but i will never give up until i can hold this for 10 minutes. thank you Matsu for taking this photo of me back in Nihiwatu! gives me more will to achieve my goal!

Kimura-san sent me a day 6 photo in the mentawai. makes me want to go there again. maybe next year? i’m actually getting a little jealous. haha.

omg, yesterdays ramen was absolutely the best hawaii has to offer. custom made ramen made exactly the way you want it. i’ll post the info about this place later so check back.

and the dessert was amazing too. so happy Nao-san liked it a lot! can’t wait to go back.

did you know that the CEO of GoPro lost $3 billion in the past 2 years? that’s 312,705,003,000 yen. omg! i’d be crying!

and did you know that the CEO of Facebook lost $3 billion in just one day!!!! omg, that’s crazy!
by the way, a girl paddled up to me the other day and said “hey kirby, i sent you a private message to your Facebook.” i told her “what? i don’t have Facebook.” then she said “yes you do, i sent you a message.” omg! really? i don’t even know how to use Facebook? that’s crazy!

day 4 of boot camp! super good waves again for Nao-san! so stoked to be surfing and talking story with my apple genius!

every wave, i’m analyzing everything. do you see something that needs adjustment in this photo? look good at Nao-san’s left foot. it’s a little too much on the left side of the surfboard. thus, making turning left easier, and turning right more difficult.

so after that wave, i explain to her what to fix. then once she fixed it, it’s perfect!

this is exactly where you want your feet on the board each wave. then it will making turning anyway very easy. great job and awesome smile Nao-san!

when i take people surfing, i hardly catch any waves. the reason is i want to give the best waves to whoever i take surfing. then the rest i leave for the locals. but there are times when i’m on the outside by myself and a perfect wave comes directly to me. then i must go!

omg, went to try out this new ramen shop today. it was freaking amazing! i’ll be here at least 3x a week.
