Dolphins and Bugs
had another awesome session with Hashimoto-san this morning. this guy is ripping! getting better mentally, physically, and stylish.
then we got some visitors. the dolphins came pretty close in so we went to say hello.
it was Hashimoto-san’s first dolphin experience. lucky guy! look how calm the water was today. it was like mentawai!
then we went back at surfing. today was sunday and there was hardly anyone out. where was everybody?
pho is always good after a 3 hour surf session. hope you sleep good tonight Hashimoto-san. i’ll see you tomorrow morning again!

this makes me happy too. there was a VW classic car show at magic island. i had a 30 minute break so i spent it all right here! it was freaking awesome!
then went back to pick up Tanaka-san and headed out for an amazing afternoon session. perfect waves all day long!
Japanese Toilet: Look forward or backward?
it’s so funny how you have to teach some people how to use the toilet. i saw this in the kansai airport bathroom and thought it was a great idea. there are so many different types of toilets in the world and i sometimes get confused myself.
and in japan, you can actually flush the toilet paper in the toilet. but in other countries, you have to wipe your ass, then put the stinky toilet paper in the trash can. yes, i’m serious.
check out this photo of the poverty line in south africa. left is for luxury, right is for slums. i remember seeing this with my own eyes 20 years ago and i totally freaked out.
this skydiver jumped out of a plane without a parachute.
luckily, he landed safely in the net. it was on live tv and i’m glad he didn’t splat on the concrete.
and his son was there watching the whole thing. imagine seeing your dad go splat and die? that’s terrifying! in fact, that’s crazy!
