pops, yet another blog i did a while ago and forgot to press “Publish.” here it is.

once again, the Moniz boys taking over the american surf industry by a storm. Joshua was the NSSA champion last year, and now he gets the cover shot for this years program. amazing photo!

The Reigning Champ. 2014 Open Mens Champion Joshua Moniz!

then Seth Moniz was the number 1 contender coming into this contest. and of course, he didn’t let anybody down and now is the champion of 2015. last year Josh, this year Seth. Moniz domination continues!

i was reading the boys interviews. one of the questions was: What is the weirdest thing you’ve even eaten? Seth’s answer was: Probably whale meat. I was in Japan and eating everything on the dinner table. It just looked like a normal piece of steak. I’m sorry.
haha! that is so funny because i remember it so clearly. when i took care of Seth on his first trip to japan, i think he was only 10 years old or so. i told him “hey Seth, when you travel, eat everything that is presented to you. you don’t have to like it, just try it. that’s the way to travel to understand other cultures. Seth ate whale and other bizarre things on that trip. and now he knows the culture of japan as a lot of people still eat whale till this day. Seth, there is no need to say sorry. there is absolutely nothing wrong with what you did. explore, experience, and enjoy!

Record Hot Hawaii!

omg, it has to be the hottest summer since i was born. i don’t remember the sun being this strong ever! the temperature was 90F or 32C. but the heat index was 96F or 36C. that is way too hot. thank goodness the ocean is just 10 minutes away.

couldn’t take it anymore so had to go jump in the water this afternoon. just drove out to the deep blue and took a deep dive. right after i surfaced, i felt so good again! water temperature was 80F or 26.6C. perfect!

even though i have enough spear guns to last a lifetime, i always keep up with the new technology. so when i seen this beauty hanging on the wall at the dive shop today, i told the guy “i’ll take it now.”

then i brought it home and did some modifications. something i love to do. just so peaceful doing it and i’m thinking at the same time “i can’t wait to catch dinner.”

my new gun is set up, and now i’m ready to test it out tomorrow. hurricane approaching but it doesn’t effect the underwater world. rain or shine or hurricane, i’m going tomorrow!

without my dive watch, i’d probably be blacking out all the time. want to thank Umino-san for always changing my battery and servicing this life saver.

i came home tonight to watch the amazing sunset. it was pink and purple.

then 5 minutes later, it turned orange. such a beautiful way to end a hot summer day!
