omg, it has to be the hottest summer since i was born. i don’t remember the sun being this strong ever! the temperature was 90F or 32C. but the heat index was 96F or 36C. that is way too hot. thank goodness the ocean is just 10 minutes away.

couldn’t take it anymore so had to go jump in the water this afternoon. just drove out to the deep blue and took a deep dive. right after i surfaced, i felt so good again! water temperature was 80F or 26.6C. perfect!

even though i have enough spear guns to last a lifetime, i always keep up with the new technology. so when i seen this beauty hanging on the wall at the dive shop today, i told the guy “i’ll take it now.”

then i brought it home and did some modifications. something i love to do. just so peaceful doing it and i’m thinking at the same time “i can’t wait to catch dinner.”

my new gun is set up, and now i’m ready to test it out tomorrow. hurricane approaching but it doesn’t effect the underwater world. rain or shine or hurricane, i’m going tomorrow!

without my dive watch, i’d probably be blacking out all the time. want to thank Umino-san for always changing my battery and servicing this life saver.

i came home tonight to watch the amazing sunset. it was pink and purple.

then 5 minutes later, it turned orange. such a beautiful way to end a hot summer day!

Go-Naminori Hawaii: Surf 'N Hula Hawaii
living in Kaimuki is cool. a long strip of shops and restaurant changing all the time. been passing by this new shop that popped up right near my house. had the chance to finally go inside and see what it’s all about.

Surf N Hula is a hawaiian vintage collectors dream store. just by the display in the windows, it takes you back to the good old hawaiian days.

and when you walk in, you can’t stop looking at every piece of hawaiian history.

this is a one of kind shop. the owner has been collecting hawaiian items for decades and will finally let some go. and the prices are pretty reasonable.

of course, surfboards and skateboards always catches my attention. check out that Gerry Lopez lighting bolt surfboard for sale!

old bottles too. probably older than you.

and man toys.

had some pretty authentic old contest surfing trophies too.

and this skateboard with metal wheels. i remember that!

a piece of history for only $112. not too bad at all. in fact, i have so many friends in japan that would buy this skateboard right now.

and the original hula dolls.

remember Primo beer? omg, my grandpa use to drink that 40 years ago.

i remember my grandpa drinking Primo beers in his Primo aloha shirt. classic.

old pay phones too. cool.

more hula dolls.

and of course, glass fishing floats that floated to hawaii all the way from japan. you will never find one of these on the beach these days.
here’s my advise. if you are a collector, you better go and get your antiques fast because stores like this won’t last too long. once most of it is sold, it will probably close down. it’s definitely a one of a kind store for everybody who loves hawaii will surely love.
