spent a wonderful thanksgiving day right here in waikiki. meet the moniz family and friends for a relaxing tourist like day. yes, this one spot looked very crowded but it was actually all of us. 11 of us at one time.

Isaiah on the SUP. just 2 days ago he barely advanced to the 2nd round of the world cup at sunset beach. i’m sure he will step it up and come out on top in the next day of competition.

Seth playing around. while the rest of the ASP competitors are practicing out at sunset, Seth is in waikiki enjoying his life. something every kid should do.

Takami-san hasn’t surfed waikiki in over 20 years. and after getting smashed by a SUP right when she got out, i could understand why she didn’t come back, and will probably never come back. haha.

well, north shore might be ugly, but if you drive 1 hour into town, you will see a total different side of hawaii. the side of hawaii i lived my whole life. and now you can understand why i am so thankful!

Black Tuna Friday

i went shopping yesterday for the first time in a very long time. i’ve been looking for a carry-on rolling suitcase for 15 years. just too expensive to buy one at regular price so i was waiting 15 years for a sale. finally, that day has come. black friday starts on friday, but i went on wednesday to get the black friday deals. and yes, the guy sold me this suitcase for 20% off. score!

i went in the store to buy a rimowa, but i looked around the corner and found this perfect size briggs & riley rolling suitcase. for the type of traveling i do, this was the best for me.

lots of room for a carry-on. it’s actually the maximum size for international flights.

my advise for those of you looking for a suitcase. buy the 8 wheel suitcase! it rolls effortlessly and very easy to get around. light, durable, but very expensive. this one cost $450 but got a 20% discount so it wasn’t that bad. poly carbon material with a lifetime warranty.

then came home for dinner and my brother bought a tuna from his friend. fresh 30lbs yellowfin tuna from the waters off oahu. i got out my small knife and carved it like a turkey.

then my sister did the fine tuning. omg, it was soooo good!
