Back to Snow Surfing!

i still couldn’t believe how beautiful yesterday was! i was super lucky to be in the water all day long. morning session with Ikuko-san and Kei-san! surfers from hokkaido happy to be in the warm waters of hawaii.

yes, the waves were perfect!

Ikuko-san got so much better since the last time we surfed. she could only go straight back then but now, she’s turning, walking, and smiling so good!

i taught her on the beach how to cross step and here it is, her first ever cross step! congratulations Ikuko-san! welcome to a higher level of long boarding.

Kei-san surfs so good. i was just watching him eyeing out the lip and getting ready to hit it hard!

super nice turn!!! what a great surfer!

Ikuko-san getting so much better that she almost ran me right over! haha.

this photo is unbelievable. hanging on the nose going right to diamond head. a longboarders dream! i will never forget this day in paradise!
thank you Kei-san and Ikuko-san for the wonderful 2 days of surfing. have a safe flight back to japan and keep on surfing! hope to see you in the snow ocean someday. aloha.
The Big Five Zero!

stopped by my friends house late last night to celebrate his 50th birthday.

Reid is a super cool guy. nice, surfs good, and loves his beer.

good to hang out with my hawaiian, japanese, and hawaiian/japanese friends. all cool people!

happy birthday Reid! you are a lucky man with a nice cake and a super cool wife. a great year ahead to you! let’s get some good waves and grab some big tako! and please don’t talk to me about tiger sharks anymore because we all know they are swimming right under us all the time. haha.

yesterday was probably the most beautiful day of the year in hawaii. clean air, cool wind, blue sky, sunny sun, and lot’s of smiles.

surfed with Kei-san and Ikuko-san for the 2nd time this week. i was surprised how good Ikuko-san got so fast! a cool couple from sapporo enjoying the warm hawaiian weather!

after catching so many waves, we were so hungry! so it was off to Your Kitchen on 10th Avenue for the pork bowl! omg, it was so good!

local surfer style in hawaii. surf, eat, surf!

then we went to get some dessert. Bubbie’s is my favorite! it just opened at 12pm and there was already a line!

if you haven’t tried Bubbie’s Mochi Ice Cream, you don’t know what you’re missing out.
