No-Naminori, Stranger in Taiwan

wow, slept last night at 2am, got up at 5:30am. so to put things in perspective, it took me 14 hours to get to taipei, i went sleep at 8am hawaii time, and woke up at 11:30am hawaii time. then jumped on a 2 hour train, 2 hour cab ride, and now i’m on the southern most tip of taiwan. i feel like somebody injected me with crack cocaine. haha.
so i’m walking at taipei main station, then i see a chinese stranger standing in the corner. he looked homeless or something. then i look closer and the guy looks like somebody i know. don’t you think he looks like Kimura-san? so i ask him if everything is alright. he told me he’s lost. so i bring him with me to kenting. i just picked up another stranger.

haha. i’m just joking, that’s Kimura-san as he joined me on this typhoon chasing tour 2013.
i was a tight ass my whole life trying to save a penny here and there traveling with my cel phone. finally i said screw it! i turned it on this trip with my hawaii service provider. yes, it will cost me $2.50/minute but it’s ok because i can use it to navigate and check emails. so if you call me this week and hear a chinese or japanese ring tone, hang up or you will be charged the long distance charge too. haha.

No-Naminori? yeah, they closed the beaches because of the typhoon. too many people die in taiwan during typhoons so they close the beaches. luckily we have our local guide and go-naminori official blogger Keith Kajioka taking us to the secret spots. today we surfed some awesome waves. good vibe here in the water. i love it.

see the second floor of Aloha Kitchen? that’s where we are staying. the beach is right across the street. plenty of aloha around here.

i’m so stoked i came to taiwan. things have changed a lot since the the last time i was here. there were no surfers in kenting when i came last time, now there are lots. surfing is alive here!
