i had a great time this morning with the Ichikawa-san couple. Eiji-san and Tazuko-san are very energetic ocean people. very strong paddlers and very good surfers. i was so happy to see them catch so many good waves. tomorrow we will surf again and check out this beautiful island. good night and looking forward to tomorrow!

ate at my favorite sushi restaurant last night. i swear every time i walk into there, i feel like i just walked into japan. and every time i leave, i feel so fortunate to have such good friends taking me there all the time.

this morning as i was driving down waikiki, i was looking at all the new shops. then i seen some people actually sleeping on the streets. then i was thinking how expensive it became to live here in hawaii. there is a new affordable condo building going up on south street. what is affordable? small condos starting at $365-$550K? are you serious? $550,000 is affordable? omg, my grandpa was the smartest man buying property in hawaii 70 years ago. if it wasn’t for him, i’d be homeless too. and i’m not joking.

i never ever make fun of homeless because i actually have friends that are homeless. i also have friends that had to move to the mainland because it cost too much to live in hawaii. it’s getting sad seeing normal working people living on the streets. this is something you will never see on the news.

was so stoked to see Wakita’s kids surfing in town. these 2 kids are so cute! and i’m sure they will follow their fathers footsteps and become very famous surfers.

Hawaiian Auto Car Show

i was really looking forward to the hawaiian auto car show this weekend. i went there for one thing and one thing only.
photo 2
to see the 2015 Ford F150 truck. i get there, they have it on a stand, you can’t see inside, you can’t go inside, and you can’t even touch it. i was freaking disappointed.
photo 3
the new 2015 model is supposed to be awesome. big design changes, lighter, more power, and just a better all around truck. i wish i could have sat inside to feel it out. still kind of disappointed so i left after 10 minutes.
photo 4
on the way out, i passed by the new toyota tundra truck. i’ve never been a toyota man and never will. i’ve been driving fords for too long and i like the feel and ride. but the new tundra’s are looking pretty good.

then walked by the VW classic cars. omg, i still want one of these. it just brings back the memories.

crome motor with dual 48’s. whoooop!!!!
photo 2
i owned 3 VW’s in my life and the all had their fair share of street races. i’m still lucky to be alive.
photo 4
someday when i have time and money, i will own one of these. in the meantime, i will just look for a friend who owns one and borrow it.

friday night fireworks the other night during dinner. so beautiful.

and this double rainbow as i left my house the other morning for work. freaking awesome!
waves were fun today. surfed some “no wind” bowls this afternoon. yeah, the wind just died when we paddled out and the waves were super clean and fun. we scored! going again tomorrow. have a great good night sleep.
