if you are japanese and can’t read english, i will explain this sign. no parking from 10pm to 5am. they have signs like this at diamond head and ala moana park. the reason is to keep people from drinking, partying, or doing naughty things in the car late at night. when i was in high school, we use to park at places like this and make loud noise all night long. maybe that’s the reason they put up these signs?

know where the prince hotel is? well, next to it, they are building a new business. going to have a wedding chapel, boat store, restaurants, and other businesses. it should be completed in july of 2015 so expect more traffic in that area. good idea for restaurants, but not to sure about having weddings there with the brown dirty water ala wai canal in the back.

this is what it will look like when standing on the bridge where waikiki and ala moana separates. they are even thinking of putting a gas station for boats. yeah! that’s big news because the nearest one is sand island. it cost $30 just to go to sand island and back on gas itself. can’t wait for that!

i had a great time this morning with the Ichikawa-san couple. Eiji-san and Tazuko-san are very energetic ocean people. very strong paddlers and very good surfers. i was so happy to see them catch so many good waves. tomorrow we will surf again and check out this beautiful island. good night and looking forward to tomorrow!

ate at my favorite sushi restaurant last night. i swear every time i walk into there, i feel like i just walked into japan. and every time i leave, i feel so fortunate to have such good friends taking me there all the time.

this morning as i was driving down waikiki, i was looking at all the new shops. then i seen some people actually sleeping on the streets. then i was thinking how expensive it became to live here in hawaii. there is a new affordable condo building going up on south street. what is affordable? small condos starting at $365-$550K? are you serious? $550,000 is affordable? omg, my grandpa was the smartest man buying property in hawaii 70 years ago. if it wasn’t for him, i’d be homeless too. and i’m not joking.

i never ever make fun of homeless because i actually have friends that are homeless. i also have friends that had to move to the mainland because it cost too much to live in hawaii. it’s getting sad seeing normal working people living on the streets. this is something you will never see on the news.

was so stoked to see Wakita’s kids surfing in town. these 2 kids are so cute! and i’m sure they will follow their fathers footsteps and become very famous surfers.
