gosh, i came back to cold winter hawaii 3 days ago and when i woke up this morning, it was summer again! super hot, super blue sky, and super good waves!
they held the first day of the Volcom 5 Star WQS contest today at Pipeline. the waves weren’t that good but they had to run a day because of the waiting period.

instead of going to the north shore, i stayed in town and worked. yeah, shooting beautiful surfer bikini models is part of my job. i wish i could show you some photos but i might get in trouble so i won’t. it’s been a long time since i worked as a photographer and i had a great time until i got home and was on my computer for 5 hours straight editing photos. i seriously need a secretary.
then i came home to check up on my chickens. good Peanut, good Butter, and good Pepper. keep those fresh eggs coming!
i was hungry but wanted to eat something simple. so it was my special fried rice for tonight.
i ate 3 bowls and now i’m on my computer again editing photos. super stoked to see the beautiful images from today. and super stoked to meet new people.
tomorrow i’m surfing all day long! it’s going to be another hot summer day! oyasuminasai.

Future Whale Watching
everything is so high tech now days. i was looking at chart plotters and these machines can do everything! i’m looking forward to owning one and navigating all around the hawaiian islands. it’s almost too easy. wait, i take that back. nothing is too easy when it comes to the ocean. when you let your guard down, that’s when it will get you. safe navigating!
been playing around with a 400mm F2.8 mega lens. it’s unbelievable how sharp the images are. these old fishermen were super far out at sea standing on the reef and i could see the hair on their back. haha.
and these whale watchers were about a mile out to sea and if they were doing something naughty, i could see them. haha.
