i’ve been eating cereal every morning recently ever since my chickens stopped laying me eggs. this morning, i seen a few ants in my cereal and i thought it will be ok because ants are high in protein. i eat like usual and it tasted normal. then when i got to the bottom, i seen some ants floating around in the milk.

i closed my eyes and ate it all. people say i changed a lot recently. i think so too because i never use to eat ants. now after traveling to third world countries and eating ants, bugs, spiders, and even dog, i appreciate everything that feeds my hungry body. tomorrow morning i will get up and eat ant cereal again. want to have breakfast with me? haha.

i had a great time with Matsuoka-san this morning surfing bowls. i taught her how to turn left and she kept on turning left all morning long. a big step and big improvement. such a happy and energetic yokohama girl!

it’s been so weird how our timing has been perfect. the weather has been so unpredictable recently so getting the good waves at the right time takes planning and luck. happy to say that we’ve been super lucky recently because everyday our sessions have been amazing!
tomorrow get ready for strong North/East winds up to 35mph. paddle hard and open your eyes! good night.
Ants for Breakfast!
Yamari and Life with Ocean!

wanted to welcome Kimura-san and Atsuko-san to hawaii. and want to thank them and the Yamari team for the wonderful gifts!

this is super cool! Yamari has a great marketing plan, a great designer, great minds, and great people. the coolest shirasu company in the world producing the best shirasu in the world. YUMMY!

i’m super stoked to get these cool slippers! i use about 10 pairs of slippers per year. i wear them everyday so they either get worn out, or somebody at the beach steals them. if i saw these sitting on the beach, i might steal them too. haha.

7 years ago i took this photo of Renosuke riding his little car in the Yamari factory. now he’s a very smart boy in elementary school. in 10 years, he’ll probably go to college, then be driving real trucks working in the factory. then in 30 years, he’ll be 8th generation boss of Yamari. the next generation of the Yamari Empire.

people ask me if i miss surfing Pipeline. i tell them “no” and this is why.
