Good to see you today Grandpa!

a few days ago i met one of the most shyest kids i’ve ever met. now, the kid isn’t shy anymore. it amazes me how surfing can bring out the best in a person of any age. just take a look at these photos and it will make your day!
when we were surfing, i seen 2 manta rays playing on the outside. we paddled out and watched it swim right under us. Masamune-kun told me “i’ve only seen manta rays at the aquarium.” hey kid, welcome to natures free aquarium!

i let Masamune-kun use one of Kelia Moniz’ surfboard. when i told him she was the world champion, he couldn’t believe it.

and i still can’t believe he caught a wave all by himself and rode it all the way in. Kelia’s board is super narrow and thin and is built for high performance surfing so even i have a hard time paddling it. now, Masamune-kun is the new owner of this one of a kind surfboard that thousands would die for.

who’s shy? not this kid!

when i first seen this photo, i had tears of joy in my eyes. you just have to love this kid!

North shore swell? Laniakea chest high and really clean.
South shore flat? Yes, super small again. The longest summer flat spell. Light winds from the East at 10mph.
Cloudy morning becoming super sunny very soon.
