i meet the coolest people everyday. meet Takabayashi-san. a super cool chiba surfer that came to hawaii to surf for the first time. i took him out to bowls and we had super fun. Takabayashi-san started surfing 6 years ago and got hooked. he speaks english really good learned from watching tv and following blogs. after he caught his first wave and rode it for 30 seconds, he paddled back out and said “Epic!” yeah, when surfers use the word epic, it means awesome, unreal, or freaking great! we surfed in the perfect weather with no wind, we ate hawaiian food at kapiolani park, drove around, and had a great time. when i dropped him off at his hotel, he told me “today was priceless.” OMG! you don’t know how happy that made me. for somebody to use a word i use all the time, feel it, and live it.
Takayabashi-san,
Thank you for a cool day.
I was super stoked watching you catch so many long waves.
And I’m glad you liked the Hawaiian Food Plate, especially the poi.
Have a great time in Hawaii with your family.
Enjoy life, keep on surfing, and hope your whole trip is EPIC and PRICELESS!
Aloha
Priceless and Epic!
Peace and Namaste
i’ve been doing yoga once in a while for the past few years. yoga’s not only taught me strength, endurance, or power, yogo’s taught me patience, calmness, and relaxation. it’s so amazing how one deep breath can create such calmness. a long time ago, i was very impatient, hyper, and very aggressive. if somebody wanted to fight me, there would be steam coming out of my ears and i’d be thinking of ways to put my enemy out. but now, those little things don’t bother me anymore. i just take a deep breath and all my problems are gone.

and this is a yoga pose i use to only dream of. i use to go to yoga class and when i see people doing this, i’d be super impressed. this pose is called Pincha Mayurasana. it started from a dream, and now it’s a reality. i can actually hold this pose for a long time. maybe i’ll try to do it on my surfboard someday. haha. so one yoga pose that i thought was impossible for me is possible. now, i’m eyeing out another pose and when i do it, i’ll show you the photo. until then, take a deep breath sometimes in life. Namaste!
