of all the 50 plus old classic cars that were being shown the other day at Windward Mall, this one was my favorite. there’s something about the VW Bug that makes me want to get one so badly. i owned 2 in my younger life, and i think i’m ready to own one in my older life. i would be smiling the whole way. haha.

this is an oval window, or baby window. i’m guessing it’s a 1955-57 or so. i had one just like this and i knew i shouldn’t have sold it. regrets.

why do i like the island oahu the best? because we have everything. the big busy city of honolulu, and the beautiful nature of honolulu. and this is just honolulu. riding a motorcycle around recently is opening my eyes up even wider. you just see so much more than when you’re driving a car. my next dream is to ride through japan with a motorcycle. can i borrow someones? haha.

i’m the fortunate person to be breaking in another harley davidson bike. when you get these brand new, the gears are really tight. so taking it out and putting on the first 1000 miles is very important. between my brother and i, we put on about 200 miles so far. it’s getting better and better each ride. once it hits 1000 miles, it will go under full maintenance and will be ready for its happy customer. until then, i’m riding into every sunset! i just hope i don’t burn my leg again. haha.
Men in Black
The first crazy day!
Salemat pagi!
What a crazy first night.
We left Padang at 5pm, entered a typhoon.
Boat bouncing, everything falling, lightning bolts everywhere, loud thunder, people getting seasick.
It lasted 4 hours then things calmed down. I finally slept.
Woke up this morning and guess what? We were still in Padang. Haha. We had to turn around and hide our boat behind a small island for protection. It was my worst experience in my life on a boat. Everybody said the same thing too. Our Indonesian guide has been on this boat for the past 20 years and said it was his worst experience too. He thought the boat was going to flip over. Yes, it was that bad. We have 5 girls who are first timer boat trippers. They experienced the worst and it’s only going to get better. The harbor master said the storm will be here for the next 5 days and ordered all boats back to the harbor. We can’t wait. We’re going! If we sink, we sink. And if this is my last blog, this is my last blog. This is part of traveling and you just don’t know what will happen. But I always see the light at the end of the tunnel and we will get there one way or another. See you in the Mentawai!
