ANA-LOG, HEATHER BROWN, GREENROOM WAIKIKI

had the coolest surfer group from Anan, Shikoku the other day. Kataoka-sensei is a vice principal at an elementary school and is the first ever in japan to start off surfing as a course. yeah, the kids get to surf as part of their school work. cool! Ta-san is a helper of the surfing school and caught some awesome waves here in hawaii. Toshi-san works for a company called ANA-LOG, which custom builds log houses. this company is made by surfers and ran by surfers. in fact, you have to be a surfer to work for them. cool! when the waves are good, everybody goes surfing at the same time. i love companies like that. kind of like go-naminori. haha.

i’m enjoying the sun, surf, and people i meet more than ever. it’s so fun watching the stoke on the faces after they catch good waves. it’s a great feeling.

here’s another great feeling. i just got a check in the mail the other day from artist Heather Brown. she got together with the Greenroom Waikiki and auctioned off one of her paintings for our We Are One project. the support continues and i can’t wait to go back to Tohoku in april. a lot of people already forgot about the earthquake/tsunami, but not me. i knew from the start that as time goes by, more help will be needed and that’s what we will do. i want to thank everybody for their continuing support.
