iPad3, Pirates, 6,000,000 yen, KONY2012

wow, it just seemed like a little while ago that i just got my iPad2. now apple released the iPad3? i passed by the apple store in waikiki yesterday and seen a long line. i bet people were waiting in line for the iPad3. do i need one too? hey apple, please slow down! and please don’t release the iPhone 5 yet because i just got my iPhone 4.

Somalia has one of the best mobile phone communications systems in the world. and with the boom in social networking like facebook and twitter, the government is now tracing the activities of pirates via their social network. they are finding out their movement and also have a better understanding on the pirate trade. in 2011, the total cost to the shipping industry was $7 billion. that’s big business!

the japanese government decided that 6 million yen ($72,000USD) should be given to every individual unable to return to their homes for at least 5 years because of the radiation contamination. it might seem like a lot of money to some people, but that’s nothing to others. i’m sure all the people want to do is return back to their home. when is this going to end????

remember the KONY2012 youtube i posted last week? well, the video got over 80 million views and now the director/filmmaker is in big trouble. yeah, Jason Russell got arrested for running through the streets of San Diego in his underwear yesterday. somebody called the police when they seen a man running though the streets yelling and screaming. that happened to be Jason Russell. this is the classic example of “the price of fame.” if you want to get famous in this world, remember that there will be a spotlight on you where ever you go and what ever you do. i’m sure that some of the top politicians in the world (including President Obama) are wondering if it was a good decision to support Jason Russell.
