Good Morning. It’s 6:15 am and here is the Hawaii South Shore Surf Report.
Diamond Head: Head high and windy.
Bowls: Chest high and clean. 25 guys out.
Ala Moana Park: Chest high and crowded. 100 surfers out!
Wind: Tradewinds @ 15-25 mph.
Weather: Cloudy morning, Sunny afternoon.
Best Spot: ON the boat.
Plan: Lose weight!

as i pulled into the bowls parking lot as usual this morning, something
seemed different. i couldn’t quite figure it out until i got closer.
OH MY GOSH!!! WHERE DID THE GREEN GO? somebody came and cut down all
the trees!!!
ok, let’s sit back and use our head. there was a homeless problem down
in the parking lot as we all know. so the governments solution was to
cut down the trees that have been there for 50 years so it will chase
them away? yes, it worked as nobody lives there anymore. so is that
the new solution? the easiest solution? what’s next? cut down all the
trees at ala park? cut down all the trees at kapiolani park?
for a regular park user like myself and many others i talked to today, i
think the government made the wrong choice. trim the trees? ok! but
to kill it and cut it down to the ground is crazy! the scenery at bowls
will never be the same. and the next time we decide to fix a problem by
destroying nature, let’s think about it first.
anyway, i had a great day at the beach anyway. the swell is coming up
and expect big surf this whole week!
