The Zone….

see where mayor sakurai is pointing too?  that’s where his own house is.  he got kicked out of the evacuation area too and doesn’t know when he will be able to go back  in.  how sad is that?

this was one of the brightest days of my life.  to hand over a donation to the mayor felt super good because of all the support i’ve been getting from everyone.  thank you for that….

A Million Handshakes….

for all these years, i’ve shaken over a million of hands.  there are regular ones, and there are the handshakes you never forget.  shaking the hand of the mayor of minami soma was a great experience for me.  just from that initial connection, i knew he was a great man.  firm, and confident handshake…

delivering supplies is rewarding.  when grown men tear while saying “thank you for coming,”  it’s emotional, but at the same time, happiness.  every time we drove away from dropping off something, we all felt a bond with the people, and we also felt like we did a great thing.  when we were leaving, this man shook my hand with his two hands and said “we are very thankful.”  i felt every drop of love in this handshake and when he didn’t want to let go, i almost teared while saying “we will be back!”

Horenso "Spinich" Lovers…

being the first volunteers pulling up to this little village after 5 weeks since the tsunami wiped out everything, these 2 ladies were really happy.  it might have been the lady on the lefts first time with a big smile holding spinich that was donated for our mission.  come to find out, her husband still didn’t come home since march 11th….

the elementary school we visited in ishinomaki for the 2nd time was much brighter than the first.  why?  the lights finally came on.  i hope things get back to normal soon for these kids..

once again, thank you to each and every one of you who helped in any way for our missions.  my blog isn’t going to be a promotional marketing tool at a time like this.  i know that in every heart that made this happened, you must feel so dam good!  thank you again…..
