good morning. 7 am and finally got a good sleep. i think the beer and jacksan helped a lot. not waking up at 3 am feels pretty good and normal. i’m in chiba now and the waves are pretty fun. isaiah and i had a long day yesterday. we surfed warm water up in shonan in the morning. i surfed with trunks and was hot! then the 3 hour drive over to chiba. everybody was telling me the water was cold but i didn’t believe. how could it? so i put on my trunks and went surfing. in 2 minutes, my nipples turned to raisins. if i entered a wet tshirt contest, i would have won for sure… haha.. the water is freezing cold here in chiba. your head is sweating from the 100 degree heat and your balls are freezing from the water. what a weird feeling…. anyway, the waves were good, isaiah was surfing good and actually better than i thought. before he came, i told him he’d better practice because the japanese kids surf good in these conditions. he was ripping and pulling off some big air reverses. tomorrow we’ll find out how he matches up with japan’s top surfers as the junior pro kicks off….

it was good to see hayato, zuccho, jasmin, and hide-san last night. we had a great talk and a really happy evening. i was on beer one when jasmin took this photo of zuccho and i. after a few more beers, taking a photo was the last thing on my mind. but i think hayato and jasmin took some. check their blogs… oh, wanted to thank zuccho for the bottle of jacksan. we loved it! see you at the party on august 14th!!!

jasmin asked me what i wanted to eat. i said “your home cooking.” she spent 3 hours in the kitchen cooking up some of the best lasagna i’d ever eaten….

it was soooo good!!! i ate 2 servings. thanks jasmin…

kelia is coming tomorrow! she better be ready for a pretty busy schedule. everybody wants a piece of her and come august 14th, everybody will. a lot of go-naminori bloggers and supporters will be there so come down and let’s have a great time!!! oh, and bring your socks because cosmic night disco ball bowling is what we’ll be doing. can’t wait!!!

Japanese hamburger steak

i caught the train yesterday and it was packed!! something was going on? sure enough, there was the enoshima fireworks show. i felt like a stink sweaty sardine in a can…

akko-chan asked isaiah what he wanted to eat for dinner last night. he said “sashimi.” good choice isaiah….

i woke isaiah up at 4am because i wanted to take him to my favorite river mouth in the world. and i wanted him to see why i wake up so early. i think he knows now because the waves were pretty dam good! how’s his peace sign? haha… i think he’s turning japanese already.. haha…

i didn’t think that there would be waves today. luckily i was wrong. this is one of the most heaviest localized river mouths in japan. you have to be pretty dam lucky to even get to surf out there. the locals have been really nice to me for the past 18 years and i’m thankful for that. today, the locals were nice to isaiah. i’m thankful for that too. thanks everybody!!! i took some photos that will be posted later. have a great evening….
