good morning. hope your all having a great day!!

i’ve been to thousands of beaches around the world and haven’t seen anything like i did yesterday. blue lagoon? emerald lagoon? i felt like i was on a different planet. the water was so clear, the sand was so white, and i couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. the locals told me that this is the most beautiful beach in the world. i agree!! and to top it off, there is star sand on this beach. i’ll show it to you later….

saying bye bye is always the hardest part of a trip. just in 3 days, i felt the aloha spirit of the people of yoron island. it’s really close to okinawa so i’ll be back for sure. thanks again everybody!!!

i stopped by hokulea at the beach hotel last night for a dinner with takahashi-san, kazubo-san family, and satoru-san. we were talking about the upcoming mentawai trip and all of a sudden, takahashi-san wanted to go. i told him that our boat is full but if somebody cancels, he might have a chance. so he got on his phone calling some of the members to try to take their place. the funny thing is, nobody wants to give up their bed. not even me. haha… i can’t believe we leave in a few days and i’m starting to get excited. surf, dive, have fun!! see you all soon!!
*i had a weird dream last night. i dreamt that i was taking a piss off the side of the boat in the middle of the night while we were moving from island to island. i ended up falling off the side and nobody knew. i swam to the nearest island and caught fish with my hands, and ate coconuts everyday. then i seen a boat on the horizon and thought to myself. do i want to be saved? i really didn’t. weird….
Weird Dreams…
omg!

freakin beautiful!
YORON ISLAND!!!

GOOD MORNING!!! wow!! what an awesome bbq last night the locals made for us. not hawaiian style, not japanese style, but yoron style. yes, i’m on this beautiful island of yoron and after talking story with the locals last night, i learned something very important. i learned that it’s ok to spear fish on this island. the locals welcome spear fishermen and this is the only place in japan that will let you do so. if your interested, shoot me an email and i’ll get you in contact with the right people. more on this topic later….

we used a mini bus to transport us from the minshuku to the boat. here is our spearguns. on this island, it’s ok. try this in tokyo? you’ll go to jail…

the beaches are amazing. white sand and clear water. picture perfect!!

we dove 3 times. this is our catch from round 3. great assortment of fish for our wonderful barbecue…
**anyway, gotta get going but have lots and lots more to talk about YORON. i have so many good memories in such a short time. and i have new islander friends that i’m going to visit 2x a year. thanks to everybody on YORON island. you made me feel like home….

and last, when we were in wakayama the other day, this cute little 9 year old girl came up to me and said “hi, i’m kelia moniz’ fan.” seth was on the side of me and was surprised. i told her, well, this isn’t kelia moniz, this is her brother seth moniz. we took a photo. look at her smile on her face!! kawaii!!! imagine when kelia comes to japan? there’s going to be a lot of happy little girls jumping around. i can’t wait to see that….
