good morning. 6:30 am and i have no idea how the waves are. the surf cameras are down for some reason. i’m guessing it’s small but i’m going to do it like the old days. just drive down and check it with my own eyes. if there’s waves, score!! if not, i’ll jump in anyway. it’s still better than sitting in front of my computer. ok, heading out now. hope everybody has a nice day!!!

just got an email from my friend derek who’s selling his 1968 VW ghia. gosh, i really want to buy it!! porsche alloys? recarro seats? oh my gosh!!! if i had a bigger garage, i would buy it in a second!!! there’s no motor or transmission but you can get it for cheap these days. why is he selling it? because he want to fix up his boat instead and start fishing again. that makes me pretty happy because derek knows where the fish is. last time we went, we caught like 10 mahi mahi’s, 4 ono’s, and 20 or so aku’s or katsuo. i will never forget the barbecue we did in my garage after!!! derek, once your boat is ready, call me and let’s go!!! IT’S AHI FEVER!!!

surf into summer @ bowls this weekend. i heard from mike akima that a solid swell is on the way. the competitors are going to score!!! if you didn’t enter by now, better call the sheraton local motion and beg maki-san to let you in. when i was an amateur competitor, this contest was my favorite. why? because you can surf bowls with only 5 other guys out. that’s pretty rare…. anyway, wanted to wish all the competitors good luck!!! see you down there….

hey, there are new rules down at the ala wai yacht harbor parking. first, if you park in the numbered stalls, you have to pay $1/hour instead of the .25 cents it use to be. second, if you park in the free parking stalls in front of ala moana bowls, you can’t leave your car for more than 6 hours. do they check??? yes they do!!! look at this $40 ticket@!#!! and if you leave your car there after 10:30 pm, don’t expect to see it when you get back because it won’t be there. get a taxi to the towing yard, pay the penalty, and citation. probably cost you around $200. gosh, i miss the old hawaii….

speaking about bowls, i’ve been surfing there a lot recently. it’s a good place to test out my new equipment. boards, cameras, etc….

wow, did you see the new watch casio and in4mation came out with? freakin sick!!! how can i get one???? your going to kill it jun. congratulations….

good morning. 6:45 am and the waves are chest high and fun. kind of windy now but should clean up as the day goes along. low tide coming up this afternoon. i’m going surfing!! have a nice day…

when ever i wonder how the waves are in the whole japan, i just check kinsan’s blog. why? because kinsan is hardcore and is at the best spot at the best time. i travel around japan with him and let me just say this, “there’s never a dull moment.” we explore, meet people, eat good food, surf good waves, party, and party. i have so much fun but at the end of a trip, my body is 1%. haha… i just go back home, recharge, and do it all over again… can’t wait for this typhoon season… see this photo? it’s a super secret spot that not too many people in the world know of. i surfed it once and after i seen this photo, i want to surf it again, and again!! wanted to say hi to kinsan and all the boys at this awesome secret spot!!!

ever since i’ve started shooting photos, i always wanted a pelican 1550 case to keep my stuff in. it’s durable and water proof. i finally found a used one online and guess who was selling it? my cousin. small world. thanks daniel….

i had a dinner last week with these 2 triathletes. the guy in the middle is a writer/comedian from japan and the guy on the right is a pro rugby player. i’m not sure if i’m supposed to put their names so i won’t. i don’t want any trouble by their managers or something. wanna hear something funny? the rugby player had a nice stylish white hat on, he took it off and put it on the side of him as he was eating dinner, the whole night, the comedian was using the rugby players hat as a napkin. he was wiping his dirty hands and mouth on it after eating the lobster. haha.. it was the funniest thing i’ve ever seen. i can’t wait to drink with these guys again. by the way, the rugby player is a good surfer. he was ripping bowls rights…
**last. 2 weeks ago, i got a new video camera. 2 days ago, i used it for the first time. 1 day ago, i used it again. i love my new toy!!! check out these dolphins i was swimming with 2 days ago. i had the video camera in one hand, and my still camera in the other. wait till i shoot surfing with both cameras at the same time. it’s called “killing two birds with one stone.” the photos i got are freaking amazing!!!
